• Shazia Ilmi is an Indian Politician and social activist.She was a noted TV-Journalist and TV-anchor in Star News,before joining social and political activities.
• She is National executive member of Aam Aadmi Party
• She was a spokesperson for the India Against Corruption movement led by Anna Hazare in 2011 and 2012.
• Her film on an Urdu Newspaper “Post Box No 418” was screened at several film festivals all over India in 2010.
• She was the Director and Researcher of “Daughter of the Earth” 2005. This film was a portrait of prominent eco-feminist Vandana Shiva’s work in aquaculture in coastal Tamil Nadu – part of a series on Women & the Environment, produced for the Beijing Social Summit; Nominated for the International Film Festival, London; commissioned by UNESCO, France. “Daughter of the Earth’” was internationally telecasted by the Discovery Channel on the World Environment day 200
• She was also the Director of “The Stolen Harvest”- a documentary based on Dr. Vandana Shiva’s book on Food Security and Seed Patenting under World Trade Organization.
• She has also directed the first ever television series for DD international produced by an all women crew ‘Women at Work’ in 20
• Shazia is also a member of Adjunct Faculty in the Pondicherry University where she conducts workshops in Television Production and Broadcast Journalism.
