- She was a spokesperson for the India Against Corruption movement led by Anna Hazare in 2011 and 2012.
- Her film on an Urdu Newspaper “Post Box No 418” was screened at several film festivals all over India in 2010.
- She was the Director and Researcher of “Daughter of the Earth” 2005. This film was a portrait of prominent eco-feminist Vandana Shiva’s work in aquaculture in coastal Tamil Nadu – part of a series on Women & the Environment, produced for the Beijing Social Summit; Nominated for the International Film Festival, London; commissioned by UNESCO, France. “Daughter of the Earth’” was internationally telecasted by the Discovery Channel on the World Environment day 200

- Shazia is also a member of Adjunct Faculty in the Pondicherry University where she conducts workshops in Television Production and Broadcast Journalism.
